Anxiety is like worry on steroids.
You worry about anything and everything. Worry about things that have already happened. Things that haven’t happened, but might. Things that are so unlikely to happen, but you can’t help worrying about what you might do in situations that will come up.
You are a pro at the “what if” game. “What if this happened… or this… or this…”. You replay conversations over and over in your head. Analyzing every word that was said, might have been said and words you should have said.
Your brain is constantly going. Wishing you could turn your brain off for just a little bit. Maybe you find ways to “tune out” – binge watch TV, sit on social media, that one glass of wine that quickly turns into 2, or 3,or more. There are days that you are always working, always doing, always busy. You think if you keep going then your brain won’t have time to think about all the things you worry about.
You are exhausted. You just want your brain to stop.
